American Girl dolls are a huge collector’s item up here. Until now, we had never been to a store. On Friday, July 25, my friend Stefanie, her daughter Emma, me and Ava took a long ride to Northpoint Mall to visit the store. Ava does like her baby dolls, but she is not obsessed with them yet, so I was interested to see how she would like this store. Emma already has one and is looking forward to seeing the movie “Kit Kitridge”. We had lunch at the adorable little bistro in the store where they give you a high chair and a doll size menu for the dolls and a doll, if you don’t have one. This was a big hit at our table. The food was actually really tasty. Ava loved the accessories for the dolls more than the dolls. Her favorite part about the trip was the carousel in another part of the mall. She gets so excited every time we go to the mall and ride the carousel, it is laughable. We’ll see if maybe Santa will get her a doll this year. I had such a wonderful time hanging out with Ava – she is becoming more a little girl than a toddler now, although she still has her moments. Our outing was full of bonding!!
