Last Thursday, we got to get away for awhile down at the beach in Destin. It was a girls only trip – Ava, me, Sue Sue, Nanny, Grayson, Kinsley, Melissa and Nana. Luckily the weather was beautiful, but a little on the cool side with the breeze. Friday the high was 75 and Saturday about 71, but a little chilly with the breeze. Great thing the pool is heated. The kids had a ball in the pool, Ava’s eyes were bloodshot from playing so long in the pool and at the beach. I haven’t gotten Ava swimming lessons yet, it’s a little early, but she will start the first week in June. She did great kicking this year and wasn’t as afraid of the water as last summer. All she needs is a little confidence and she’ll be swimming on her own. She has all the arm motions and kicking down! I think she’ll do great after her swimming lessons. Miss Tracy in our neighborhood does a great job with the kids. Ava, Grayson and Kinsley loved playing on the beach down by the water too. They run back and forth with the waves, squealing with delight, like the waves are chasing them. The Gulf is not warm yet, it is absolutely icy!
