Polar Express

Ok, these new posts will be somewhat out of order, but this adding posts to my blog takes soooo long to organzie my pics and upload them and the story here it takes time I usually don't have. I got the bug today so here goes a few before the holidays fly by me...

Back in Nov, we went to ride the Polar Express in Bryson City, NC. For the past two years, that is the only movie Ava likes to watch in December so I thought this would be a ton of fun. I rallied two other couples in the neighborhood and off we went with the kids. Chad was really looking forward to it, but of course, at the last minute couldn't go because of work. We drove about three hours to NC and stayed at an amazing Lodge called the Nantahala Resort and Spa. It was the coolest set up - two apartments set on top of each other - they were both extremely roomy two bedroom two baths and each one had a pool table in it....we really missed Chad...

We had a very late lunch in a cute restaurant in downtown Bryson City and then boarded our train. On our journey to the North Pole, we were served hot chocolate, sang Christmas Carols and then picked up Santa in the North Pole. It was a truly magical time when Santa walked through the train and gave each child a bell and signed their 25th Anniversary Edition Polar Express Books. They kids had a super time and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the majic happen. We headed back to the lodge and ordered dinner from their wonderful restaurant. We had a great view of the mountains from our suites and were able to take the kids to play on the playground before we left in the morning. It was a beautiful weekend we will repeat again sometime in the future!!!! You will see from the pics the excitement on the children's faces!!
