Do things really come in 3s?

Well, I still haven't posted yet for my bridesmaid outing for karla's wedding and Chad's birthday get together at his parents house - all the pics are ready, I just haven't had a minute to write and upload all of those pics. So stay tuned!!

On to more recent events. Last Tuesday night Baby Girl woke up at 12:30 with the croup!! Not fun, she never gets a cough with the croup, she just wakes up and can't breathe - so scary. After she calmed down, she could breathe a little better with some blasts of cold air from the freezer. Of course as I am trying to shove Ava's head in the freezer so she can get some cold air, it's not pumping out any cold air at the time!! Luckily the shelf of cold packs (for coolers) busted off the door some how ( I don't know what happened) and Chad picked one up and put it to her mouth. Worked like a charm! We got to the hospital about 20 minutes later and they gave her a breathing treatment and an oral steroid. Ever since then, she has not had a wheeze or a cough, just a runny nose and some drainage. That night took some recovering we didn't get home from the ER until 5 am and Ava stayed awake watching movies the whole time in our room. This is children's ER is great - they play all kinds of movies in the little rooms for the kids.

Just as we are coming out of the weekend on a good note, last night Ava woke up at 12 throwing up!! Not to get too gross here, but she did have a little diarreah during the day, but never complained or acted like her tummy bothered her. Anyhow as most of you know whether you have kids or not, throwing up in the middle of the night is the worst - mainly because you just want to sleep and you don't know when it's going to hit you again!! Luckily, she only threw up three times, but continued with the other until this morning. Poor little thing - I felt so bad for her. I think I have smelled enough virus to last me a longgggggg time!!!! She is a trooper, woke up this morning and wanted to drink at eat. For now she is on the BRAT diet and doing great. Thanks to Sue Sue- she came over this morning with saltines, gatorade and applesauce. OK - I have to give major props to Chad. I couldn't ask for a better partner/team mate with a sick child. Anytime Ava has ever been sick he just does the othe half of the job - he alredy knows what to do. After Ava first threw up that night, I took her in our room to change her diaper and he was already stripping her bed -took the sheets downstairs to rinse them off then threw them in the wash. When he came upstairs, I asked him to do all that and he said - they're already in the wash!!! He is the best when it comes to a crisis like that!

As usual, when these things happen, I had just changed all of our sheets yesterday and was ready for a great night sleep!! Needless to say, I am on my 4th load of laundry today with a few more to go!! Me and punkie girl are going to catch up on some zzzzs here after I finish this blog.

After nap time I am off to shop at one of the largest consignment sales around. It's like shopping at a department store, it's at the fair grounds up here and it has 1,000 sellers that bring all of their kids clothes to make a buck. Tonight is the "preview sale" where all of us sellers get to shop before it opens to the public. It's actually stressful, because it's like a free for all with 1,000 people all acting like crazy people frantically looking for clothes. The payoff is worth it though. I always find some really cute stuff and great Halloween costumes. This year Ava wants to be a princess or Strawberry Shortcake....we'll see what I can find....

Back to my title, I am keeping faith that we won't have a 3rd string of something yucky strike us!!

I'll keep you posted!!!!
